Community Service Challenge 2012
|
Lincoln State Bank recently participated in the Independent Community Banks of North Dakota’s (ICBND) Community Service Challenge. Community Banks across North Dakota were encouraged to pick a community service event or act of their choice to complete between April 1 and June 30. The winner of the contest would receive a donation of $500 to their cause. ICBND announced the bank’s entry as the winner and awarded the check on Tuesday, August 14th at the association’s 45th annual convention in Bismarck. In turn, Lincoln State Bank presented the check to the City of Hankinson on August 16th at its business appreciation event held for the bank’s business customers.
The bank and its employees selected the Hankinson Community Center for their service event and planned, prepared and served over 300 people who came to share in the dedication of the facility on June 29.
Also in April, community banking month, bank staff served cookies, coffee and lemonade for a City-sponsored forum for elected officials on April 25th. Lincoln State Bank selected the “GO LOCAL” theme for its float in this summer’s parades with a goal to bring local businesses within its market area together and “build bridges” to promote and support each other, as well as build a communication network between themselves as a resource to promote economic activity in the entire area.
By going local and banking locally, consumers make a hometown investment they can be proud of. The money they deposit in their community bank is reinvested in ways that drive the local economy. Community banks are small businesses themselves and only thrive when their customers and communities do the same. Taking care of their customers and looking out for the best interest of their community is ingrained in the way they conduct their business.
Lincoln State Bank has served the Hankinson community since 1935, Wyndmere since 1956 and Lidgerwood since 2003. |
